Shalom, y'all ~ The Ancient Scripture Scrolls (yes those, Virginia) in the weekly Torah teaching actually has a lesson on offering/donation/contribution, called T'rumah. It is found in Exodus 25:1-27:10 with the Haftoarah portion in 1 Kings 5:26-6:13 and the B'rit Chadashah (New Covenant) 2 Corinthinas 9:1-15. The overall theme is "Heartfelt Offerings for the Mishkan (Tabernacle)." Note that the teaching in T'rumah is not an imposed Temple tax, nor a hyped hand-out. The lesson is "heart felt" for GOD's holy, separated and place of dwelling among us. Those who love GOD with all their heart, head and hands have no hang-ups in a heave (elevated) offering. Those who pretend they love GOD with ALL their heart, head and hands bemoan the silly foolishness of those who put on a show of the " give and take" offerings. GOD is not mocked. Those who engage in pretensions are punished. And the world is not fooled by the gilded gold of ministries who can no longer say "silver and gold we do not have". They do not have the power of GOD to deliver, resurrect and make whole because they do not do nor say what YESHUA says and does. So, teach your sheep wisely about what you are for, rather than against. Be relationship rich and rant poor. Leaders lead locally. Shalom. Rabbi DF Eukel broadcasts 2 live programs on BlogTalkRadio.com every morning, "Ask the Rabbi" at 6AM CST and "Rumble with Rabbi" at 6:30 AM CST. You are warmly welcomed to participate. Love & Prayers, Rabbi

Integrity! Integrity! Integrity! Thank you for speaking about this shameful topic, heads-on-straight!!! I have been so very heartsick (as I believe The Master is too) over the years by witnessing these $$ excesses and outright abuses by pastors!!! The church of pentacostalism/charismaniacs has become tained by these scams, at the expense of innocent people who are grappling with issues of faith and trust in God's provision. I believe there is a special place in Hell itself for those fools in pastors' clothing. (Yes, I do believe this is THE EXCEPTION to otherwise prevenient grace!) Rev. D. W.
Amen! I've been to too many conference meetings where the offering message got out of hand. Too many times I've heard God won't (or can't) bless you if you don't give! Outrageous! I stopped going to one evangelist's meetings because of it. Thanks for your perspective.
